Learn here why marijuana can benefit your bones. A must read for someone suffering from bone degeneration or arthritis.

Do you have bone fractures? Do you have bone diseases like arthritis? Or you are suffering from low bone density due to ageing?

Your solution lies in marijuana. Yeah, marijuana is a panacea for numerous health conditions, including bone problems. Even science has backed that marijuana can heal bone injury and help with bone density.

Here we have explained why marijuana is being looked as a promising treatment for several bones disease.

Cannabinoids (CB) Supports and Strengthens Our Bones!

Our body has cannabinoid receptors that stimulate variety of physiological processes like appetite, mood, pain sensation and memory.

There are two eminent types of cannabinoid receptors—CB1 and CB2. CB2 receptors are responsible for handling the building and breakdown of bone tissue. Many studies have highlighted the role of CBD in the generation of new bones while preventing old bone breakdown.

CB1 receptors, on the other hand, are found important in the regulation of bone mass by other studies. One  study indicates that CB1 receptors can play vital role in regulating trabecular and cortical bone.l;mlmlmlmlmlmllmlmlm

This is how cannabinoids receptors play important role in our health. Their deficiency (or changes in their levels) can lead to a range of diseases associated with liver, kidney, lungs, muscles and above all bones.

How Marijuana Boosts That Cannabinoids (CB) of Our Body

So you must have understood that cannabinoids are important for your bone health. They promote healing, prevent disease and inhibit bone degeneration. Therefore, you need to support and stimulate your body’s cannabinoid system to ensure great bone health.

Marijuana can help in that, thanks to its active components like CBD and THC. These components boost CB1 and CB2 receptors in body, thereby helping the body’s own cannabinoid system in maintain bone’s health.

A recent study published by The Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, which was conducted by the Tel Aviv University and Hebrew University, shows that marijuana’s active components can benefit the bones.

The research team inflicted mild fractures on rats. The first group of rats was injected with CBD while another with the combination of CBD and THC. After assessing the effect, they found that CBD alone healed the bone injury.

YankelGabet, one of the researchers, stated:

“We found that cbd alone makes bones stronger during healing, enhancing the maturation of the collagenous matrix, which provides the basis for new mineralization of bone tissue. After being treated with cbd, the healed bone will be harder to break in the future. We found cbd alone to be sufficiently effective in enhancing fracture healing. Other studies have also shown cbd to be a safe agent, which leads us to believe we should continue this line of study in clinical trials to assess its usefulness in improving human fracture healing.”

On the basis of scientific studies, it is proved that marijuana is a great remedy for bone health. Although marijuana is yet to be confirmed as official treatment for the bones, it is a ray of hope for those who are suffering from arthritis, osteoarthritis and pain in joints.
